Who helps small businesses with AI in south west London?
I'm Will Darbey. I run Practical Automation, a one-person AI and IT consultancy for small businesses in south west London, and anywhere in the UK remotely. I join up the email, forms and spreadsheets you already use, so repeat admin like answering quote requests stops being done by hand. Start with a free 30 minute call.
Why search results are hard to go on
When I asked three AI assistants in September 2026 for an affordable AI consultant for a small business in south west London, they named more than a dozen firms between them, and only one firm came up in more than one answer. What you're shown depends a lot on where you ask. I work with businesses in south west London, and anywhere in the UK remotely, so if you're local, you don't have to go further afield to find someone to talk to.
What working remotely actually looks like
Most of an engagement runs over video calls and screen shares. A first free call, a working session where I look at how you actually do things, and updates as the work progresses: all of that fits on a screen. If south west London isn't near you, the same process works from anywhere in the UK.
This works alongside your IT, not instead of it
If you already have someone who looks after your systems, this isn't about replacing them. It's the jobs they haven't got round to, or don't want to take on: joining up an inbox, a form, or a spreadsheet so it works together rather than needing you to do the joining by hand. If you don't have anyone looking after your IT at all, that's fine too.
When a visit makes more sense than a call
That said, the working session, where I look at how you actually run things, can be over Zoom or, if you're in south west London, face to face at a time we arrange together. That matters more for trade and field based businesses, where the owner is out on site rather than sitting at a desk, and seeing the actual process in person is sometimes worth more than describing it down a phone line.
Who this actually suits
The businesses this suits best are the ones where nobody has time to sit at a desk and fix the admin, so the same problems keep repeating themselves. Someone at one small firm summed up their own systems this way: "There are just lots of things the way that our system works that are really inefficient." That's a normal starting point, not a special case.
Getting started
The first step is a free 30 minute call, no obligation and nothing to sign. I'll ask what's actually slow or frustrating in your business, and I'll tell you honestly whether it's worth building something, or whether you can sort it yourself without paying anyone.
